God's Got This! Whatever it is.

One of the most powerful scriptures in the Bible is Luke 1:37, and was spoken by the angel Gabriel to Mary, the mother of Jesus. In this verse Gabriel said, "For nothing is impossible with God." Basically, what this verse means is EVERYTHING and ANYTHING can happen when God is involved! Gabriel said these words to Mary because he was delivering to her the good news that shows going to deliver the Good News. What Mary said to bring about this news that she was going to have a baby was, "How will this be', 'since I am a virgin?" Luke 1:34

Impossible is a word we use from time to time and I am fairly certain we all know what it means. But let me tell you from the Greek what the word impossible means. Just what it says. No, seriously, when something is impossible it means there is no way, no how, that whatever is needed or declared can be accomplished. It is a complete waste of time because there is absolutely no ability to perform the task. How about one more definition?Impossible means totally powerless. Now, does that sound like God? I hope not, because if our God was limited in power in any way we need to go in search of a better God.

Jesus, while talking about how difficult it would be for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God, was asked, "Who then can be saved?" Luke 18:26. Jesus answered, "What is impossible with men is possible with God." Luke 18:27

In another passage of the Bible, Sarah was told she would bear a child at the age of 90. Upon hearing this she mockingly laughed. Then the angel of the Lord said to Abraham, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Genesis 18:14

Now before anyone freaks out, the power and possibilities of God extend past unconceivable conceptions. So for those of you who do not want anymore kids, you are safe. God can do miracles in all sorts of areas - in fact, EVERY AREA.

For the better part of this past year, a phrase has come to my mind over and over. In so many situations, especially concerning the longevity and health of our church. I have spoken these words to myself and others, "GOD'S GOT THIS!" Whatever it is, however it is, whomever it is, God can handle it! There is nothing too difficult for the Lord. I have relied on these words that God spoke to Moses in Numbers 11:23, "Is the Lord's arm too short? You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you." What Jeremiah said to God, "Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." Jeremiah 32:17. And what God then said to Jeremiah, "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27

What these words have done is reduce my stress over situations I cannot control, lessen my fears, doubts, and worries about life and finances, and also to fill me with a sense of peace I could not have otherwise received without him.

Paul said in Ephesians 3:20-21, "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

As we face yet another new year (2022) of uncertainties, struggles, highs and lows, we will get through it victoriously because, "GOD'S GOT THIS!"
