Father Know's Best
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
Even though we are God's children (heirs), bad things will still happen to us. And when they do, it doesn't mean that God is mad at us, or that He doesn't love us anymore, nor does it mean that He has left us. It only means we live in an evil world where people still do evil things. God has the power to stop evil, but He also gave mankind a free WILL and He won't violate this gift. What God can do is turn bad for good (maturity, development and strength). As God's heirs (His kids), He would prefer we not be immature, spoiled brats - to ensure this, God has:
PREDESTINED US…
"For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified." Romans 8:29-30
God knew beforehand we would choose Him to be our Savior, so He chose us first. Because of our choice, it's like God said, 'You want to be my kids, then I want you to be like my son. God has just two goals for mankind: For all of us to be saved by Jesus and then conformed into His image. Now, salvation happened the moment we said, 'yes' to Jesus, but sanctification takes the rest of our lives. Based off of our call, God predestined (pre-determined) us to be saved and sanctified. But in order for this to happen, Jesus would have to justify us so He could glorify us.
…AND PROTECT US.
"…If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?" Romans 8:31-32
Due to this 'new' relationship, God, before our birth, gave His word to care of us, no matter what. At every facet of our lives, God is faithful to preserve, protect and provide for our every need. And even though we may be going 'through it', God will get us through it. We need never fear again, because by standing with Him, who or what can stand against us? In all things, we win.
"…In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Romans 8:37
