It's All About God
"I ask then: Did God reject His people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject His people, whom He foreknew." Romans 11:1-2
For the record - God does not reject people, people reject Him. Jesus died for the sins of everyone: the good; the bad; the ugly; and the past; present and future. God accepts and forgives all who cry out to Him. But Israel, God's chosen, along with many others, have chosen something or someone else, thus, rejecting:
GOD'S KINDNESS…
"Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in His kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off." Romans 11:22
People have the wrong impression of God. True, He is the judge and He has standards, but He is also loving and kind. It's not that God wants to be stern, but if people reject Him there are consequences. Is this not fair? And shouldn't a righteous judge be fair? But clearly an unfair move is for the judge to pay the penalty of the offenders. This is unheard of. As judge, God declared us guilty and then out of kindness, put His sternness away and saved us.
…AND HIS WISDOM…
"For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that He may have mercy on them all. Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" Romans 11:32-33
Out of His great wisdom, God bound us over to disobedience. Some might think this is mean, but from God's perspective, if we're not bound (confined, imprisoned) as sinners then He cannot, out of His kindness, offer up Jesus as a sacrifice for sin. We must be declared sinful for us to be forgiven and be found guilty to receive a pardon. Think about it, God binding us over to disobedience is a stroke of genius. Now he can pay for it and be done with it.
…AND FOR HIS GLORY.
"For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen." Romans 11:36
It is important to note that all the good in life is from Him (down-ward), and through Him (for-ward), and for Him (up-ward). Life is all about God and always has been -Amen!
