”…Whatever is right - think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
We live in a world of blurred lines. People used to have a high standard and clear set of rules. A person’s word was their bond and a handshake was as binding as a contract. Today, people do what suits them, regardless of their vows; pursue their own comfort, no matter what they said, and will lie, cheat or steal to get what they want. We are called to treat people right. This means we do unto others as we would have done to us (the golden rule). In order to do this, we must be people who think right, which leads us to do what is right, helping us to live…
CLEANER…
”The righteous will hold to their ways, and those with clean hands will grow stronger.” Job 17:9
Clearly there is a right way and a wrong way to live. How we know this is most of us have been taught right from wrong. But those who have not been taught, can’t deny their God given conscience, which instinctually knows the difference. People will make lots of excuses, claiming innocence based off ignorance, but none will fly with God. He knows we know. Back in the day, fabric merchants would lay out their fine linens for purchase. But if there was a flaw, the clever seller would fold it a certain way to hide the flaw. Honest dealers would lay their fabric out with no folds to show their integrity. We must be ‘no folds people’, who think right and live clean, stronger lives.
…SAFER LIVES.
”…Do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you… Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.” Proverbs 3:21-23
People who think right will naturally make wise decisions, which leads to healthier choices (in every aspect). These wise choices include everything: our finances and business dealings; the places we go; the people we befriend, and even our diet. Just in these common areas we will live safer lives, free from harm, revenge and sickness. When we do what is right we have less fear of bad things happening. No-one is ever totally safe from evil taking place, but those who think right are better protected.
